“Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy…” LK 21: 34
Jesus invites us to keep our hearts awake. As we enter this sacred time, let us look at the ways that we can open our hearts to receive God’s love for us. Jesus begins by challenging us to clear our hearts of all that could block us from experiencing God’s presence in ourselves and those around us. He mentions in particular drunkenness and anxiety about daily life. What addictions keep us from opening our hearts to God’s love in our life? Could we let go of our cares and concerns for just today and turn them over to God? As our hearts become more open we can recognize God’s presence in our everyday lives, helping us with the challenges of each day. We will be able to recognize God in the people who love us and the people who need our love and care.
Where do I find God in my life today?
